NCS was seeking assistance to rebrand and reposition the company in order to win new business especially from the multi-national developers moving into PNG.
Step 1 was a research and evaluation stage which ensured that any action we took had clarity and alignment with the NCS Vision. In a short space of time, Sue set about completing an achievable, detailed action plan to meet our short and long term objectives focusing on communications, marketing and strategic management.
This resulted in the creation of a new logo and brand identity and complete re-launch of our brand within 4 months. This was also done in tandem with the complete redevelopment and technical upgrade of the NCS website to a professional standard.
Next on the list was our company newsletter which underwent a revitalization to reflect our new brand and more importantly, writing and delivering a consistent message to multiple NCS stakeholders.
That was all achieved within the first 4 months and over the following 18 months, Zulu continued to ensure we maintained clarity and direction on our goals whilst working closely with the Executive Director and team on strategic positioning for the new business we were seeking.
Concurrently, Zulu revised, redeveloped and created new marketing and advertising collateral and managed numerous campaigns including; new uniforms, merchandise, staff handbook, staff recognition and reward program, representation at industry events, business development and introduced a long overdue healthy lifestyle program for use by all our customers.
This would not have been achieved but for Sue’s tenacity, her attention to detail and responsiveness, all of which reflect her professional commitment and focus on her client’s needs. Coupled with an effervescent approach to her work, it enabled NCS to achieve the goals it had set itself – recognition as PNG’s premier service company and winning business in the largest resource project ever undertaken in Papua New Guinea.

Commitment and passion for the project leads to outstanding results
Sue Liu from Zulu Communications joined our team at Kogarah Council for a period of four months to help re-evaluate and redefine our Media and Communications operations and to lead the redevelopment of our website.
Sue stepped into the role whilst assisting with the recruitment of this key management position at Council. She worked directly with our Mayor, Councillors, Executive Management and staff to ensure that Media and Communications issues received the focus, enthusiasm, energy and attention which is required in this critical area of Council.
The website redevelopment was one of the key projects Sue managed for us. She was the driver and facilitator of this very complicated project. She managed and worked with all of internal management and
stakeholder teams, IT and Graphic Designers and external suppliers to ensure the efficient, accurate and appropriate foundations for the redevelopment of our website.

Valuable mentoring experience
I had the great fortune of being matched with Sue Liu of Zulu Communications when I joined the 2008 Women in Business Mentoreeship Program.
I joined the program to help with my short-term baby equipment hire service, Baby Hire Stuff. I was happily going along using what I like to call “the hummingbird approach”. That is, fluttering between enjoyable tasks, following all my bright ideas and ignoring less pleasant tasks for another day. What a desperately needed was a strong rudder to guide my wandering business. Someone to get me to face facts about my business and confront the hard stuff head-on.
Sue instantly recognised that the little that I had in the way of marketing materials were mismatched and did not communicate the essence of my business to customers. She mentored me through commissioning a gorgeous logo, getting business cards printed, aligning my website and a flyer I could be proud of.
Sue knew when to speed me up and when to slow me down. She got me to focus on how my business was perceived in the market place, and how to shift that perception.
After doing the hard work with Sue it came to light that my business was not as viable as I thought it was, nor was it really what I wanted in the longer term. I am now working on another business. I can apply what I have learnt with Sue on my new venture. The lessons have been learned and the skills are transferable. The experience has all been so valuable and is getting me to closer each day to business success.

A Brand new website in a short amount of time – just like we asked!
A magazine article on our Company prompted us to expedite the development of our website. It also meant that our lead time was very short as we wanted our website up and running by the time the magazine came out.
With limited knowledge in setting up websites, the task was daunting. Enter Sue Liu from Zulu.
Sue sat down with us and ran through the process from start to finish. She also listened to us. Sue followed up with a documented scope and action plan complete with deadline, responsibilities and importantly, a budget.
One of the key issues for us was that we had as much control as possible over the content and look of our website. Sue embraced this and articulated our vision to the web designer and builder.
As the mock ups for our website came through there were bits and pieces we wanted to change. The changes happened – no fuss!
Setting up the website meant a lot of work within a very short time frame. Sue guided us through this and we achieved our objectives – a website that works for us, delivered on time and on budget.

Strategic planning leads to impressive new brand and marketing campaigns
Before starting the re-branding process with Zulu, I only had the notion that I wanted to – needed to – make a change, but had no idea how to proceed.
Sue Liu of Zulu Communications put together a structure for the process and we worked, together, on each step, one by one. These steps were in manageable, and comprehensible, stages. Notions and ideas into words and tangible tools

Our campaign plan for a strategic facelift a success!
The Alarm Factory needed to re-brand as our security services had expanded well beyond providing just alarm systems. I worked directly with Sue who took our wishes into account, planned our marketing and the communications strategy to our customers made the whole process very easy for us.
First we worked together to select a new trading name – Integral Security Management – and then we worked on designing our new logo. Sue and her graphic designer presented a number of logo designs and one really stood out!
