Case Study: Good foundations and a professional suite of maternials developed for a community-based Association

I joined the Mosaic Association of Australia as a volunteer committee member to help boost the professionalism of the association by using my professional skills to develop quality communications and marketing devices and resources.

Working with the President and graphic designer (also a volunteer members) we created an identity that enabled MosOz to be accepted as a serious professional association and also maintain the fun and creativity that is at the core of the organisation.

Developed were practical items like a display banners, pens, calico bags, sigange, registration forms, certificates, stickers and business cards. These resources are used over and over again when Mos Oz is present at trade shows and exhibitions all over Australia.

There is also a website and on-line newsletter that is utilised for communication to our membership and beyond.

EVENTS: In November 2004 our President annouced that Mos Oz would hold its first Symposium in Sydney and exhibition of mosaic works in Sydney and Melbourne in May 2005.

I was able to contribute my skills as a HANDS ON Marketing and Event Manager played a key role in the organisation of the all of the events and media relations for publicity. Our first symposuim was hugely successful – with over 80 participants from all over Australia. I was also the MC at the Symposium.

Subsequent event included the Stitches and Crafts Show – incorporating hands-on activities and the sale of Mos Oz showbags.
