It was a sell out lunch held at the Exchange Hotel in Balmain to meet Geraldine Cox, "BIG MUM" from Sunrise Children’s Village in Cambodia.
There were 15 business people attending – all with a common interest in Geraldine and her work with Orphan children in Cambodia at Sunrise Children’s Villges and philanthropy in general. The lunch was also attended by Sunrise’s Country Director Gerald Trevor.
We heard from Geraldine first-hand about her work and what it entails to keep an organisation such as Sunrise going on a day to day basis and we discussed how we can all help to Geraldine and her team build a sustainable future through our businesses.
At this event we were proud to announce and present Geraldine and Sunrise with over $15,000 in donations including:
$10,500 from St George Private Hospital
- 6 year old Gemma’s donation of $600 – from her birthday party. That’s her mum Lynda presenting Geraldine with Gemma’s donation. Read more about Gemma’s Birthday
Key Outcomes:
- Sue Liu from Zulu Communications was invited to spend Christmas and New Year in Cambodia with Geradline and the kids and was contracted to work with the Australia Cambodia Foundation Inc to help them with strategic business and marketing!
- Zulu was also able to secure Geraldine with several speaking engagements to high profile groups – by working with the businesses at the Power Plug-in Lunch – which WILL result in more business and support for Sunrise in the future.
A number of business alliances have been formed and consolidated as a result of coming together over common interests.
